Microcell arrays

The microcell arrays are polymer inserts that enable live cell imaging experiments over extended periods of time, ranging from hours up to a week. There exists a selection of shapes and sizes to suit different applications.

All microcell arrays are made from poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS). PDMS has been shown to be an excellent non-toxic bio-compatible polymer material for cell culture and has been extensively used in microfluidics. However untreated PDMS is hydrophobic and therefore requires a surface treatment before using with adherent cells. Microgrid arrays

The microgrid arrays are square bottom well arrays that have demonstrated to be succesful in confining cells within the volume defined by the well. This has enabled low and medium resolution imaging of cells over extended periods of time.

Microwell arrays

The microwell arrays are nano and pico litre well arrays with a flat bottom profile that are very successful in confining adherent and non-adherent cells for dynamic live cell imaging and analysis. The size and shape of the microwell arrays are suitable for medium and low resolution imaging of cells over extended periods of time.

Micromesh arrays

The micromesh arrays are circular or square hole arrays through a thin polymer membrane. The micromesh arrays have been used for confining cells while presenting the biological coating of the culture ware. Alternatively, the micromesh arrays can be used as a micro stencil for producing protein patterning of surfaces. The design of the micromesh arrays has enabled low, medium and high resolution imaging of cells over extended periods of time.

MicroEB arrays

The microEB arrays are well arrays that have a parabolic profile that are extremely useful in growing three-dimensional spherical embroid bodies. The design of the microEB arrays also enable low and medium resolution imaging over extended periods of time.
